Counselling, personal development and self-awareness 

Counselling and personal development are aimed at people who want to address personal or situational issues that do not constitute a psychiatric disorder. Self-awareness is aimed at professionals in therapeutic or counselling professions.

Sessions can take place via video or in the practice. I also offer appointments in the evening or at weekends. These are subject to separate rates.

These services are billed privately. They are not covered by basic insurance.

Psychiatric treatment

If a psychiatric diagnosis or suspicion exists, psychiatric treatment will be provided. Depending on the situation, psychotherapy, medication or a combination of both may be recommended.

The initial consultation takes place at the practice in Zurich. Subsequent sessions may also be conducted via video in certain cases. 

The services are covered by basic insurance if there is a diagnosis or a corresponding suspicion. Self-payment is possible if desired.

The effectiveness of emotion-focused couples therapy (EFT) has been scientifically proven. It is suitable for both overcoming crises and maintaining relationships.

As relationship problems are not considered an illness, the costs are not covered by basic insurance. They must be paid for privately. You can ask whether your supplementary insurance will cover part of the costs.

However, basic insurance will cover the costs if the relationship problems are caused by a psychiatric disorder. 

In most cases, couples therapy can also be conducted via video. The content of the online couples therapy is identical to the in-person therapy. The initial consultation can take place at the practice if desired. If one person has a psychiatric disorder, the initial consultation at the practice is mandatory. If both individuals have a psychiatric disorder, online couples therapy is not possible.

In couples therapy via video, the participants can be in the same or different locations.

The sessions can be conducted in German or English.

I am a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy and work with adults in individual and couple settings. In my practice, I offer psychiatric assessment, psychotherapeutic treatment and counselling.

Therapeutic approach

I work in an integrative and indication-led manner. This means that the choice of therapeutic approach is based on the specific situation and not on a single school of therapy.

The approaches I work with include:

• Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

• Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)

• Cognitive behavioural analysis system of psychotherapy (CBASP)

• Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

• Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT)

• Consistency Theory according to Klaus Grawe

• Mindfulness-based approaches

I do not currently offer group programmes such as MBCT, MBSR or MSC. Elements from these programmes can be integrated into individual sessions as needed.

Approach and collaboration

A trusting therapeutic relationship forms the basis of every treatment. It is important to me to clarify goals together, discuss approaches transparently and reflect on progress regularly.
